Paint a Mustang
The Corolla Wild Horse Museum on Corolla Village Road hosts Paint a Mustang events on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event also takes place on Wednesdays throughout the summer at the Scarborough Faire. This is a fun community event for all ages. The museum will provide brushes, paints and the wooden horse cutouts. Meet a Mustang
The Corolla Wild Horse Museum also hosts Meet a Mustang events on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. During your visit to Old Corolla Village, stop by and meet a horse that has been rescued. Bring your family and friends to learn more about the state horse of North Carolina, its past and how to help save these horses. The wild horses in Corolla are the state horse, which is the wild Colonial Spanish Mustang. These events are open to the public.
Under the Oaks Art Festival
On June 21 and June 22, the Under the Oaks Art Festival will be held in the Historic Corolla Park at the Whalehead Club in Historic Corolla. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 21 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 22. It features a variety of beautiful art. Local food will be available, and an art auction will be conducted. Check out this annual event by the sound in Corolla!
Corolla Festival of Fireworks
The 24th Annual Independence Day Celebration in Corolla will take place on July 4. There are many fun activities for family and friends. Activities include a corn-hole tournament, games for kids, and a watermelon eating contest. The Tidewater Drive Band will provide live music for the event. Join the community in Historic Corolla Park for a great celebration this July 4.
Events at Local Color
Local Color is an art gallery and studio that is located in Corolla. The company hosts different events for the community to enjoy painting and learning about art. Tortuga Bay is an event that will continue to be held multiple times in June. Artists will help visitors learn to paint sea turtles as an acrylic painting on canvas. Starry Night OBX will take place on June 2 and July 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests will learn how to paint a starry night that is based on the Outer Banks. A Local artist teaches visitors the process of making the paintings; step by step. These are great creative activities for family and friends to enjoy in Corolla.
